Mr. Clark, Mr. Moir and Mr. Sanders each volunteered
to have their heads shaved for St. Baldrick's. Central Intermediate
School and Jefferson School together raised a total of $3,986.96.

Ice cream is back at Jefferson
School once a month.
Thanks to Zack N. and the sponsor this month, Handy Foods,
all the students had the opportunity to enjoy fudge bars. THANK YOU!
AlertNow Message System Test
ALERTNOW is the District automated phone message delivery system.
It is used to notify families of school closing due to inclement weather.
On Tuesday, December 6, 2011 we conducted a district-wide test of
AlertNow. If you did not receive a test notification message, please
contact the Jefferson School office (815-434-0726) to update
your contact information.

A Note from Student Council
Jefferson families, thank you so much for your generous
support with our fundraiser for Pet Project.
We collected 5 boxes of donated goods
to give to Pet Project along with a check for $100.00!
Our last fundraiser for the school year
will run the week of May 14-18.
The money we raise will go to help children
at St. Judeβs Hospital in Memphis, Tn.
Students can pay $1.00 per day to dress up.
The schedule for that week is as follows:
Monday- Sports day
Tuesday- Twin day
Wednesday- Wacky day
Thursday- Hat day
Friday- Fancy day
Important Public Health Announcement
Regarding Norovirus: The Illinois Department of
Public Health (IDPH) has noted a marked increase in
the number of reported outbreaks of Norovirus in schools
and daycare facilities this fall. The Norovirus is a very
contagious acute gastrointestinal virus characterized by
diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. IDPH has released
guidance concerning limiting the spread of the virus and
exclusion recommendations for children and staff in schools
and daycare facilities. The guidance is posted on the Illinois
State Board of Education's website and can be accessed
